The GMAT is required for admission to most U.S., Canadian, European and Nigerian business schools. Most students attend graduate business school for pursuing an MBA degree. GMAT can also be used for admission to PhD program in business major, such as Finance, Accounting, and Economics.

The GMAT is a challenging examination. It tests a student's quantitative abilities, verbal reasoning, and analytical writing skills under timed conditions. Because of the diverse skills required to attain a high score, students who dedicate themselves to extensive GMAT preparation have a tremendous advantage over their lesser-equipped counterparts.

SAT Reasoning Test is basically a test to measure critical thinking skills which most Colleges and Universities in the US require for admissions. The SAT exam is also used at times to award scholarships to students. Originally used mainly by colleges and universities in the north-eastern United States, and developed by Carl Brigham, one of the psychologists who worked on the Army Alpha and Beta tests, the SAT was originally developed as a way to eliminate test bias between people from different socio-economic backgrounds.
SAT consists of three major sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200–800.
Most of the questions on the SAT, except for the essay and the grid-in math responses, are multiple choice; all multiple-choice questions have five answer choices, one of which is correct.

The Education Testing Service (ETS) directs The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) on behalf of the Graduate Record Examinations Board and the Council of Graduate Schools. GRE Exam chiefly a multiple-choice test. The GRE Exam scores have to be submitted by students aspiring for admission in international graduate school for Graduate program. Apart from the general GRE Exam there are about 12 GRE subject Tests offered by the program to help determine a students success in specific fields. In addition to this the GRE program also offers a variety of services and publications to help students transfer to their respective graduate program.

If you're an international student (that is, a non-native English-speaker), you'll be asked to take the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as well. As the name implies, this test is designed to determine if your English is advanced enough to meet the language challenge of an American academic environment.
Again, some preparation is crucial (even if you're a fluent English-speaker) to make certain your skills are shown at their best on the test.
TOEFL measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and university settings.
Most people who take the TOEFL test are planning to study at colleges and universities where instruction is in English. In addition, many government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency. You can take the Internet-based Test (iBT) or the Paper-based Test (PBT), depending on which format is offered at your test center.
